Mission
Housing Lopez is helping to solve the rental housing crisis on Lopez Island by developing permanently affordable homes to members of our community impacted by our high real estate costs.
We are Lopezians ourselves — with a small board made up of community members and a new executive director that see a deep and vital need for affordable rentals on Lopez. We’ve been working since 2018 to make that vision a reality completing our first project, FishBay Cottages in 2021.
Our next development will be adjacent to the post office at the corner of Fisherman Bay and Weeks Roads where we will build 15 more units of affordable housing called Village North. We are “shovel-ready” and will begin construction as soon as the county releases the permit.

Our 2024 goal for Give Lopez is to raise $20,000 to build an EV charging system for Village North with an initial install of two Type 2 EV chargers.
As our community continues to embrace sustainability and forward-thinking initiatives, we are excited to introduce an innovative project that will benefit us all: the installation of an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station in the Village North development.
The shift towards electric vehicles is not just a trend but a crucial step towards reducing carbon emissions and creating a cleaner, greener future for generations to come. By investing in EV infrastructure, we not only support eco-conscious transportation but also position our community as a leader in sustainable practices.
