Lopez SWAP - Solid Waste Alternatives Program

The Lopez Solid Waste Alternatives Program (SWAP) nurtures environmental stewardship of Lopez Island through support of the Lopez Solid Waste Disposal District (LSWDD) and other programs that foster responsible waste management practices.  

SWAP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

SWAP is requesting donations to pass on the "Dump" for some much needed equipment upgrades.  SWAP is essentially a "friends of the dump organization". We sure appreciate all tax deductible contributions from businesses and individuals to assist our Dump in being the best little dump in all of WA state.  

Now in its 12th year of operation, LSWDD provides  exemplary services to Lopez Island and is a model for other communities in responsible waste management practices.  SWAP fundraising  provides vital support to LSWDD and shows the staff and management how much we love and appreciate their services. In 2024 SWAP donated over $44,000 to the Dump to help them purchased a previously owned back hoe.
